My name is Helen Clara Hemsley.

I was born and raised in South Africa, and have lived and worked in The United States and Great Britain. In 1998, I moved to Copenhagen, where I have lived ever since. In 2003, I decided to use my skillset as a native English speaker and was commissioned to proofread my first project. Additionally, I have spent the past 15 years translating from Danish to English.

I believe that continuity and simplicity are the keys to creating the perfect text. Furthermore, an understanding of the subject matter helps create a text that is dynamic and easy to read. I value collaboration and clear communication and I am always open to sparring with my clients.

Education
2010 Institute of Precious Metals, Copenhagen – Experimental jewellery making
1998 Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow – BA Honours Fine Art Sculpture
1995 Oxford Brookes University, Oxford – Art and Design foundation
1988 Maritzburg Business College, Pietermaritzburg – Legal secretarial diploma
1987 Estcourt High School, Estcourt – High school diploma
